Abstract:

Financial literacy needs to be introduced from an early age so that students develop a basic understanding of financial management. This activity aimed to provide financial literacy understanding to sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 32 Sungai Kakap through education on saving, pocket money management, and distinguishing needs from wants. The activity was conducted on July 14, 2026, as part of the Student Work Lecture (KKM) program of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Tanjungpura University. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, question and answer sessions, written quizzes, and documentation in the form of photographs, videos, educational materials, and savings tracking sheets. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students actively participated and were able to respond to questions about saving, the use of pocket money, and the differences between needs and wants. The activity provided an overview of students basic understanding after participating in the education.
