This study aimed to develop and evaluate the psychometric properties of a Self-Care Scale based on Barbara Riegel’s theory, which comprises three dimensions: self-care maintenance, self-care monitoring, and self-care management. A quantitative approach using a scale development method was employed. The research process included blueprint development, item construction, readability testing, content validation, data collection from students at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, and psychometric evaluation through validity and reliability analyses. The findings indicate that the developed instrument demonstrates adequate content validity, construct validity, and reliability. The proposed three-dimensional structure is supported by confirmatory factor analysis and is consistent with the theoretical model. Furthermore, the instrument effectively distinguishes the self-care construct from other psychological constructs, indicating that it is appropriate for measuring self-care among university students.
